1. James HARDING was born about 1813 in Mow Cop, Staffs.¹ He appeared in the census in 1841 in Mow Cop, Staffs.² In 1841 he was a Collier.² He appeared in the census in 1851 in Mow Cop, Staffs.¹ In 1851 he was a clog maker.¹

James HARDING and Maria HOLLAND were married on 23 Jun 1834 in Astbury, Cheshire.³ Maria HOLLAND (daughter of Thomas HOLLAND and Nancy WALLEY) was christened on 22 May 1814 in Bradley Green, Biddulph, Staffs.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1841 in Mow Cop, Staffs.² She appeared in the census in 1851 in Mow Cop, Staffs.⁵ Possibly a witness at 1881 marriage of g-daur Julia Ann Harding. If she is alive in 1881 then there isn't an obvious census match. James HARDING and Maria HOLLAND had the following children:
